What Causes Cancer?

Posted in Cancer on 04.09.10 by Merlyn

The Dr. Otto Warburg Story

In 1931 Dr. Otto Warburg won the Nobel Prize for showing that cancer thrives in anaerobic (without oxygen), or acidic, conditions. In other words, the main cause for cancer is acidity of the human body. Disease can not survive in an Alkaline Body, Only drink Ionized Alkaline Water.

Today we have an ocean of confusing information, articles in which different experts state many different reasons for illness. However, I think that the main reason for illness was stated very clearly in 1931! Over 75 years ago, Otto Warburg was awarded the Nobel prize for his discovery that cancer is caused by weakened cell respiration due to lack of oxygen at the cellular level. According to Warburg, damaged cell respiration causes fermentation, resulting in low pH (acidity) at the cellular level.

Dr. Warburg, in his Nobel Prize winning study, illustrated the environment of the cancer cell. A normal healthy cell undergoes an adverse change when it can no longer take in oxygen to convert glucose into energy. In the absence of oxygen, the cell reverts to a primal nutritional program to nourish itself by converting glucose through the process of fermentation. The lactic acid produced by fermentation lowers the cell pH (acid/alkaline balance) and destroys the ability of DNA and RNA to control cell division. The cancer cells then begin to multiply. The lactic acid simultaneously causes severe local pain as it destroys cell enzymes. Cancer appears as a rapidly growing external cell covering, with a core of dead cells.

Dr. Otto Warburg finished one of his most famous speeches with the following statement: “…nobody today can say that one does not know what cancer and its prime cause is. On the contrary, there is no disease whose prime cause is better known, so that today ignorance is no longer an excuse that one cannot do more about prevention.”[2]

Otto Warburg won the Nobel Prize for showing that cancer thrives in anaerobic (without oxygen), or acidic, conditions. In other words, the main cause for cancer is acidity of the human body.
By the time I read his genius speech, he had been dead a long time. I wonder, if this discovery was so important that he received the Nobel Prize, why doesn’t everyone know what pH is?
As soon as scientists discovered what healthy human blood pressure and temperature are supposed to be, devices were invented to measure them.

Whenever I went to a doctor, my blood pressure and temperature were measured, but I don’t ever remember a doctor measuring my pH. High blood pressure and fever, though not pleasant, do not cause cancer. The acidic condition of the blood does. It is not my opinion; it is what the internationally renowned scientist Dr. Warburg has proven. For this statement he won the Nobel Prize. As the outcome of the recognition of his discovery, I think it is vital to make pH information available at once to everyone.

Only drink Ionized Alkaline Water. This water is so amazing it has been approved by medical professionals in Japan as the single water product endorsed by the Japanese Association of Preventive Medicine for Adult Disease.

Also endorsed by the Japanese Ministry of Health and Welfare (FDA equivalent) because of the miraculous benefit to good health. This amazing technology is brand new to North America and the benefits and results people are getting are phenomenal. Because of all the health benefits from this technology, we are interested in people who are either proactive, into preventative health, fitness, exercising, or people we could help that have a physical illness or issue.

Stop Pollution from Your Ride

Posted in Uncategorized on 02.09.10 by Merlyn

Pollution has become one of the most important issues these days. Climate changing is just the beginning of broken environment. If we don’t start to care about our environment, maybe our son and of course grandson will not be able to enjoy the beautiful environment we enjoy now. That is why we must preserve our country before it is too late. We must start to give more attention to the environment, if it not us then who shall do this? Our environment really in crisis now and ignoring it won’t be any help.

Due to the fact that vehicle emission causes the highest level of pollution, many country governments have started to socialize about free car’s day. It is known to be a program where some days in a year no car is allowed to be on the road so all of the transportation back to the past where no car has been invented. However, this is far off the target, so in order to decrease the pollution level from our ride emissions we need to change our muffler into those exhaust system that has catalytic converter. This has proven to be the best idea so far, so change your muffler now before it is too late for our environment.

In my personal experience as a 10-year breast cancer survivor and from watching others, it seems that as time passes after a cancer diagnosis the worries and fears about a recurrence lessen. Ten years out, I now only find myself triggered and fearful again when a friend or loved one has a recurrence, I develop a mysterious symptom or just before my yearly mammogram.

Brain Cancer Survivor Gifts

Posted in Uncategorized on 30.08.10 by Merlyn

Brain cancer affects many people each year. For those who are still fighting the battle or have fought the battle and won, a victory celebration is in order. You might be shopping for some type of gift that would express the moment. I can offer you some suggestions.

The most important gift you can always give, that is absolutely free, is the gift of your time. You can actually create a gift certificate for a service that you can provide to your friend or loved one. Your friend or loved one may still be in the recovery stage and this will be a most invaluable. You can offer to wash their car, pick up their groceries, clean their house, pick up their kids or even babysit. You can offer to take them to their doctor’s appointments so that they can have some additional support. The choices are endless.

Another gift idea is just to send a simple card. This is a very simple idea that means so much to the person receiving the card. You can take the time and write out your thoughts of how much that person means to you. You can write about how you admire them for their fight through this struggle and how you are so glad that they have made it or are making it to the other side. This card can have a pre-written message or simply be blank as you are going to add your own personal touch anyway.

Picking out a card can be challenging because you want to give the right message and it may take some time to read through a lot of cards. This is why the blank card is a great option. Some people don’t feel like it is proper to give a blank card because they don’t believe that their words are eloquent enough. This is wrong thinking. Think about any card you have received, what meant the most, the pre-written card words or the words that the person added themselves. People always will appreciate the extra effort in the expression of feelings, no matter how it is worded.

Ten Foods with Special Powers

Posted in Uncategorized on 29.08.10 by Merlyn

Here are ten foods that can protect your heart and bones and even fight cancer.

1. Black tea
With all the talk about how good green tea is for you, don’t forget to drink black tea. Black tea comes from the same antioxidant-rich plant that the green tea leaves come from. Black tea can also protect you from heart disease and some cancers. One study showed that people with heart disease saw a 50% improvement in impaired blood vessels.
Have it hot at breakfast and iced for lunch. When brewing your own, use boiling water and steep for three minutes. There is no anti-oxidant value in instant teas. Make it yourself and drink it fresh.

2. Celery
Even though celery is known to be nutritionally incomplete, it does have potassium. Potassium helps reduce blood pressure and regulate fluids and minerals in the body. Most Americans get less than they need. When you think of potassium, you think of bananas. Four pieces of celery have 24 calories, but a banana has 105 calories.
Precut your snack size celery. Keep it in ice water to keep it fresh (in the fridge). Dip the pieces in salsa or peanut butter. Add celery to soups, stews and stir-fry.

3. Cherries
Cherries have large amounts of flavonoids. This is a powerful anti-oxidant. Sweet and sour cherries are also rich in anthocyanins, a micro-nutrient that can help the immune system fight disease-causing free radicals.
Buy cherries, in season, from May through August, or dried, canned or frozen. Freeze some for a cool treat. Add dried cherries to salads, or in pancakes.

4. Edamame
This is the whole unprocessed soybean. It is sold frozen in or out of the pod. They are crunchy green beans that have all the good qualities of tofu. They also have large amounts of folate, fiber, and potassium.
Boil them in the pod, sprinkle with salt and eat them warm or cold. You can eat them raw in salads. You can also roast them, when shelled, with olive oil and seasoned salt. Cook them at 375 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes. When roasted, they form a good healthy snack.

5. Mushrooms
Mushrooms are low in calories, and a good source of riboflavin. The contain chitin and betaglucan, 2 types of fiber. They can lower your risk for heart disease, as they remove and absorb fat from the blood.
Grill portobello mushrooms like burgers, serve on rolls. Mix mushrooms in salads, risotto, saute them or add them to pizza.

6. Onions
Onions are good for your heart. They can thin your blood like aspirin. Onions fight bacteria that can cause stomach cancer.
Eat the onions raw. It is the best way! When you cook them, their blood-thinning compounds are lost. Try sliced onion on a sandwich, or in a salad. Grilling is also good. You can also saute them in olive oil.

7. Pomegranate juice
A no-hassle way to get your antioxidants. Pomegranate juice is now sold in the supermarket, in many varieties. Pomegranates have more antioxidants than red wine, green tea, cranberry juice, and orange juice. In one study it was found, that pomegranate juice reversed some carotid artery damage. Drinking less than 2 ounces a day is all you need.
Mix the juice with sparkling water or fresh tea.

8. Quinoa
Quinoa, a grain-like seed, is close to the perfect food. It has 20 amino acids, including the ones needed to repair tissues. It also has magnesium, which lowers blood pressure. All you have to eat is 1/2 cup per day.
Boil quinoa, and use it instead of brown rice. You can eat it like breakfast oatmeal, with milk or jelly or syrup.

9. Sunflower seeds
Sunflower seeds have more Vitamin E than almonds. They are a great snack, and can help reduce your risk for stroke and heart disease. Eat at least 2 ounces and you will get 12 milligrams of Vitamin E. They also have fiber, protein and iron.
Add shelled seeds to your salads, baked muffins or cake, or meat loaf. You can crush them, add some olive oil and coat baked chicken or fish.

10. Whole-grain cereal
Eat shredded wheat and you will feel full all morning. It can help lower cholesterol, thereby lowering your risk of heart disease. It has good carbs and gives you energy.
Have a bowl for breakfast, or a snack, or even dinner.

Sex and Coronary Artery Disease (CAD)

Posted in Health And Fitness on 27.08.10 by Merlyn

A usual question is asked by the patient about the performance of sex. One may lead a fairly normal life in this regard, of course with precautions. However, it depends upon the severity of the lesion of CAD. As a rough guide, following a recovery from a heart attack, if the patient is able to climb one, preferably two full flight of stairs without any feeling of discomfort, he may indulge in coitus. More precisely, the heart rate should not be more than 120 per minute during the period of sex, and the patient should have no pain/discomfort.

To avoid additional stress, sex should be avoided immediately after meals, and even extra-marital sex should be abstained from. If suitable precautions are not taken, or the lesion happens to be more severe, an attack of angina may be precipitated during sex, and one may have to keep a quick-acting coronary dilator i.e. glyceryl trinitrate under the tongue (or chewed). If severe pain occurs during sex, follow the steps of first-aid treatment for heart attacks.

Although rare, an unaware patient may even die in orgasm, i.e. during the climax of a sexual excitement, the so-called coital death. The idea of writing this is only that such type of exertion should be kept in mind by the concerned patient. It is an important step of secondary, or even primary prevention, especially in highrisk cases. In any case, the patient should not feel hesitant to ask any questions in this regard from his physician I family doctor. He should also not feel embarrassed to discuss with his physician, in case he has any problems during the the performance of sex.

From the above account of prevention of CAD, it is evident that both primary and secondary steps of prevention are necessary to keep the fast-increasing cases of CAD under control, thus saving people both from morbidity and mortality.
